A group, the Southern Nigeria People’s Mandate (SNPM) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop blaming the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for his woes in the past four years as he has failed in effecting the positive change the people desired from the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.

The group told Buhari that failure to develop the nation and his blame game would not lead him to victory on February 16, 2019, presidential election as he had failed woefully.

SNPM in a statement signed by its President, Mr. Augustine Chukwudum, and Secretary, Rafiu Diya, called on President Buhari to stop blaming past leaders who ruled Nigeria between 1999-2015 for failing to develop Nigeria.

“Everybody knows that the PDP-led Federal government failed Nigerian masses despite all the billions of dollars generated from oil. The PDP-led Federal government has nothing to show for the oil boom and failed to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians.

“We wish to remind President Buhari that while he was campaigning ahead of the 2015 presidential election, he promised to better the lives of the suffering masses; he never promised us hell as we all are seeing today.

“Today, the majority of Nigerians go to bed on empty stomach, yet, all our president is telling us is that he knows our suffering and not doing anything to alleviate them. Our question to Mr. President now is, ‘is this the change Nigerians voted for?’ Because what the average Nigerian is seeing today shows that the APC-led government has nothing to offer if given another mandate. That is why President Buhari keeps on blaming Obasanjo and Jonathan for failure to fulfill his campaign promises.”

“Today, Nigerians are wondering whether Buhari is in charge or a cabal is controlling the government. A lot has been said by Buhari but nothing has changed. Instead, we are moving from the frying pan to fire. Price of goods are sky-rocketing on daily basis and our economy is now out of control and very soon one USA dollar will be exchanging for N1,000 if President Buhari is re-elected for the second term.

“The government is not doing anything to make Nigeria a productive country. Instead of the administration tackling the situation, it is busy condemning past leaders and giving excuses for Mr President’s failure.

“To add salt to injury, today the government allegedly has sold our national assets to their kinsmen so that Nigeria will be a completely failed nation; we hereby urge all the civil society organisations in the country to rise up and protect this country because if we fail to vote this government out, things will get to a point where Nigerians will become the personal business of some criminals called politicians.

“The truth must be told, President Muhammadu Buhari is not interested in bettering the life of the average Nigerian. Rather what he came for is a vendetta. We hereby urge every Nigerian to vote out President Buhari during the February 16 presidential election.”
