Fancy a new face? ‘I don’t like my face give me a new one.’ If some one if fatally involved in some kind of accident that disfigured or severely damaged her face, it’s very obvious that there must be some kind of cosmetic surgery performed on her in order to continue her life.

Man or woman, I do not think any one will really love to look at the mirror and have a “strange being” staring at him or her which also happens to be him/her. No one would desire to continue with life happily that way when something can be done to correct the damaged face. Such cases we see on pages of newspapers, on television or even in our neighborhood always. At times, you can hardly look at the individual concerned or even recognize the person if she/he is someone you know very well.

At this point, it is vital that such a person seek some kind of surgery to give the battered disfigured face a face-lift. Some people go through such surgery and come out with more beautiful/handsome faces; some also go through the same surgery with not-so-good looking face but, better than what they had before. This anyway, depends on where you go for your surgery and surgeon involved. This group of people ordinarily would not have love to have anything to do with cosmetic surgery but with the condition they found themselves, they hardly have any choice other than to do it. Again, in this part of the world, such surgery does not come cheap so, it is not something you wake up one morning and decide to do.

There are also not so many hospitals, beauty centers as well as well qualified surgeons who can carry out such operations. It is either you go abroad or a surgeon is invited on special arrangement. Enough of those who have damaged faces and need a new face; how about the facially vain ladies? Those who want to have the face of Barbie even when “Barbie” does not exist in the real world. Do they actually know the implication and complications that follow facial transplant, face lift, face off or whatever! Call it any name you like.

I call it face construction. Now what am talking about here is not just a lady pampering and taking care of her face through facials which is not bad at all. Of course, ladies who know their onions about beauty treatments also know there are categories of facial treatments, it all depends on where you do it; and how professional the beautician you go to is. I’m talking about ladies with normal face who are not facially disfigured, but still spend millions of Naira, Dollars, Pounds, Euros just to have a face-lift.

I see such ladies as suffering from a severe case of body inferiority syndrome to even consider waking up with another person’s face. Such ladies do not go for less invasive methods of face lift but “under the knife”. Just to have a pretty face? After that what next? No more aging? Aging, we can delay to some extent but at the end of it all, we still age! Don’t we? The wrinkles, eye bags, sagging still show up after years and years of suppression. What some women do not know is that, the more chemicals and surgery the face receives, the more it gets weak and also age faster. I am an advocate of beauty and believe that a woman should always take time out to pamper and take care of her skin especially the face but, when it gets to the stage of a normal face lady going under the knife just to reshape her natural given face, it turns out to be something else.

Once you start cutting and transplanting, you just have to continue. Right ladies? Sure! You must continue with the surgery to always correct this, that, the other one and so on; till one “beautiful morning” you wake up with a face of an alien from Mars! Then depression sets in and you can hardly get enough of wanting to look like a Barbie. You know what that means, don’t you? If you desire so much to keep your face glowing always through facials, there are different kinds of high technology facial treatments which will not warrant you to abandon your flesh to the mercy of a surgeon’s knives. All you need, is to enquire where you can get some premium facial treatments and pamper yourself.

You also have to maintain good nutrition and exercise regularly to keep your blood circulating. You also need to stay away from too much stress and worry less because too much stress and worry age one very fast and no amount of surgery can correct it as long as you are not at peace with your self. Remember ladies, a pretty face is not all that is to life.
