People shall be brought down, each man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled.- Isaiah 5;15

It's no longer news that exactly ten years after the celebrated sex scandal case of Monica Lewinsky and my good friend Bill Clinton, another victim of same, Mr. Spitzer in the United States had since resigned. Whether Mr. Spitzer was unhappy with the sexual life he was having in his marriage with his wife Silda or not should not really be for public consumption.
However the point is, why is it that every sexual scandal in the United States leads to a political and professional downfall, thereby still burdened by inability of most American liberals to learn from experts who had survived and resolved such scandals without ado like former President Bill Clinton of the United States of America, former Vice President of South Africa. and incumbent chairman of African National Congress ANC, Mr. Jacob Zuma and lately former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria who having been accused of such by his son Gbenga still retains his position as BOT Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

I urge my American liberals if caught in such act, next time please do not hesitate to reach the duo for consultations. I recalled that on February 6th 1998 at a news conference, President Bill Clinton says he. would never consider resigning because of the accusations against him. In his words, "I would never walk away from the people of this country and the trust they've placed in me." Historians would agree with me that on the 17 of August, 1998, former President Bill Clinton became the first sitting president to testify before a grand jury investigating his conduct. After the questioning at the White House was finished, Clinton went on air, precisely on national television to admit he had an inappropriate relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Similarly former Vice President Jacob Zuma had to pass through a legal imbroglio so as to wriggle out, of the scandal while former President Olusegun Obasanjo had to keep his normal 'I dey kampe' stance thereby ignoring any call from his supposedly political opponents and moralist for his resignation as chairman of BOT. I believe their counsel would do the magic for anybody who so desire to consult them.

It might be interesting to note that Eliot Spitzer who was formerly known as "Mr. Clean" and "The Sheriff of Wall Street" received accolades from the public for his courage to have cracked down the same ring he turned around to have patronized. In fact in 2005, former Governor Bill Richardson hailed Spitzer as "the future of the (Democratic) party." Similarly the 2004 presidential candidate Wesley Clark said that Spitzer was on his vice-presidential short-list. Spitzer pursued fraud in various Wall Street stalwarts and big wigs while his highest-profile victory came when, in 2002. he probed the financial activities of a 'reputable' firm (Merrill Lynch) and revealed that Merrill operations were riddled with financial conflicts of interest that affected its advice to customers. Merrill Lynch settled for $100 million. and its reputation was gravely damaged.

The scope of Spitzer's legal pursuits were enormous, he became notorious or is it popular like Nuhu Ribadu for probing crimes. though he did not politicize it like the latter but Spitzer sued out-of-state power plants to reduce smog/acid rain in New York. He forced music publishers to pay millions in back royalties to artists unlike in Nigeria where the government is yet to deal with those who rip off from our up coming music artists. I particularly felt it having followed keenly his rising profile in the United States, he investigated under-the-table commissions in the insurance industry, and led a massive investigation into internet adware and spyware, and settled with one offender, Intermix, in June 2005. Eliot Spitzer demonstrated a zealous, driving passion for consumer affairs; environmental protections; civil rights and public safety. He garnered accolades for his legal crusades.

Time magazine named him "Crusader of the Year" in 2002. In 2003, San Francisco Chronicle named him "Businessperson of the Year." In 2004, University of Illinois honored him with its "Ethics in Government" award. New York magazine gave him their Public Service Award. Spitzer clashed with Wall Street executives throughout his two terms as attorney general. Among other things, he uncovered crooked practices and self-dealing in the stock brokerage and insurance industries and in corporate board rooms, and went after former New York Stock Exchange chairman Richard Grasso over his $187.5 million compensation package, calling it unreasonable. New York former Governor Eliot Spitzer, a son of Jewish Eastern-European parents, grew up in Riverdale, New York and was a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law. He was touted in the past as the first potential Jewish U.S. president, found his political career on the brink of collapse Monday after he was accused of paying for a romp with a high-priced call girl, in a prostitution ring allegedly led by a man found with an Israeli passport at his home.

The scandal came 16 months after Spitzer stormed into the governor's office with a historic margin of victory, vowing to root out corruption in New York government in the same way that he took on Wall Street executives with a vengeance while state attorney general.
However after all he has built over the years as 'Mr. Clean' Spitzer was caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet in a Washington hotel room the night before Valentine's Day with a prostitute from a call-girl business ring known as the Emperors Club VIP.
Based on the wiretap, it told of a man identified as Client 9Spitzer, paying $4,300 equivalent to N511700 in cash, for sex with a petite brunette, named Kristen.
In his words," I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and violates my, or any, sense of right and wrong." Spitzer admitting his guilt at a world news conference stated thus "I apologize first and most importantly to my family. I apologize to the public, whom I promised better." "I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself," further giving credence to the old proverb that 'he who goes to equity should go with clean hands.'
The 48-year-old father of three teenage girls said "I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family."

It is always my hope that the present youths especially here in Nigeria and Africa would be learning from the mistakes of our today international leaders thereby preparing themselves for tomorrow. In leadership the cardinal interest is the people you are rendering the service to and not your army of praise singers because when the chips are down they would be the first to condemn any mistake made. A good example could equally be deduced from that of Spitzer when his colleagues and admirers were quoted to have said, "He has to step down. No one will stand with him," said Rep. Peter King, a Republican congressman from Long Island. "I never try to take advantage or gloat over a personal tragedy. However, this is different. This is a guy who is so self-righteous, and so unforgiving." Furthermore, Democratic Assemblyman John McEneny said: "I don't think anyone remembers anything like this - the fact that the governor has a reputation as a reformer and there is a certain assumption as attorney general that you're Caesar's wife. It's a different element than if you were an accountant."

Having exhausted the instance, in the United States, let's juxtapose the situation with that where most people saddled with sensitive positions as even high as the Local government chairmen, Governors and even number one citizen does not care on the sacredness of their offices. They relegate their exalted office of the people to brothels. It is to say the least callous, disrespectful and act against the people who gave you the mandate and God.
In order to buttress the fact how most Nigerian leaders don't care if they her held responsible for their actions, let me share for the interest of my esteemed readers a true life experience of a former Governor. This good mend of mine who was opportune to have governed a State, in Nigeria please don't ask me who and when. My book, 'MY LIFE' would be an encyclopaedia of sort, so watch out for it and get answers to your many unanswered questions about my allegations.
In the course of his governance, he was faced with his faced with his first major challenge of crisis management. The crisis started between two communities after disputes over the original owners of a particular land, and where the boundary should and should not be.

However owing to his inexperience in handling disputes he called on the Commissioner of police to handle the situation and advise him accordingly. As the crisis continued unabated, and so serious, necessitating to the destruction of several houses, properties and the loss of lives. When it became obvious that the anti-riot squad of the Nigerian police was unable to continue handling the situation, therefore inviting the military became inevitable. At that instance the attention of the fourth estate (media) was drawn to the situation and did not equally help matters. Infact the youths from the two communities relied on the reports they got from the media, to ascertain which community sustained more casualties, thereby leading to reprisals of attacks when the other is observed to have had upper hand and so it continued.

However it became a national problem to the extent that the Governor was invited to the seat of the President of the country so as for them to discuss on the ways to nip the matter in the bud. On getting to the Presidents Office, and because of the sensitivity of the matter, he was asked to go in and wait because the President who invited him was 'still busy' with other issues of 'National importance' .
The Governor had to wait for at least two hours before three half nude ladies whom ordinarily should not be rudely dressed to the Presidents office at a prime time when the commander in chief should be handling official duties, walked out from the adjoining room nay office where the president was supposedly having meetings.

They grinned at the Governor and walked pass him while taking an exit which the Governor was unaware of its existence but definitely should now lead them through another more secured way out of the Presidents Office, so as to avoid the prying eyes of the media, whom were already outside, patiently waiting with their recording and video gadgets to know the outcome of the meeting between the Governor and the President.
Similarly, the President equally walked out from that same door where the ladies came out from and no doubt the Governor understood the 'State Issues' his President was tackling before he arrived and two hours after his arrival.

These conversations started thus;
Governor; His Excellency Sir.
President; Ehen. Governor, how now... I hope it's not been long you came here. . . well as you can see I was in a meeting, smiling to the Governor? They both laughed, and shook their hands in agreement, at the 'costly joke' that it was indeed a meeting of national importance. The President was really glad to have been indulging in such meetings, unabated with different grades nay cadres of women both his serving ministers, special advisers, special assistants etc, so the Governor now asked inquisitively.
Governor; But Mr.President don't you think its quite risky having such meetings here.. . you know just to avoid any scandal? As the President sipped the glass of red wine, he turned his face to the Governor in anger for that 'nonsense question' and replied thus.
President; is that why you are here? My friends have you come to teach me how to stay in my own office? Let there be Scandal now. Sexual Scandal and so what?
