Six years after releasing his second album, fast rising hip-hop artiste, Unbreakable D’ recently released his new single entitled Lagos. His new outing is the third in his series, coming after his second album, which was released in 2003.
The artiste’s fans in Nigeria and in the U.S had long waited for this single which Unbreakable D’ discloses would precede two other albums- a single and full album.

The Ebonyi State born act whose real name is Kismet Engene, has since been working literally behind the scene. His words “I was actually working with some other musicians in the U.S and Europe. I worked with a U.S based group called G-Unit”, he said.

The experience from these series of performances have no doubt been brought to bear in his latest effort Lagos, which has an instrumental and an Acapella version, giving it a special appeal to music lovers across different genres.

The album, Lagos is an exciting showcase of instrumentation blended with an alluring and stimulating rap performance. As the album title indicates, the thrust of the lyrics, Unbreakable D’ explained, is a clarion call on people to join hands to fix Lagos, Nigeria former capital and hub of entertainment in the country. It is also a call on youths to join hands with the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) to place Lagos among the developed cities in the world, with all the facilities of a mega city.

But beyond Lagos, Unbreakable D’ says, the single is also a call on Nigerians to be proud of their country, and their culture. “This album basically focuses on getting people to be proud of what we have; to be proud of their culture. I also want our people to be proud of our country, Nigeria… Let’s make Lagos, and indeed, Nigeria, a beautiful and better place for us all. We should start from Lagos and build on from there”, he said.

While urging Nigerian musicians to be more creative and original, the artiste also disclosed the source of his stage name; Unbreakable, saying “I did not actually give myself the name. It was a situation that gave birth to the name. People saw me going through different kinds of situation, and how I was able to surmount the challenges. Then somebody saw me and said I was unbreakable. From then on they started calling me unbreakable”, he concluded.
