For Oluwabukola Fasuyi, a young actress and motivational
speaker, the entertainment platform has always been her dream.
The artiste who studied Mass communication and Language at
the Ondo State Polytechnic disclosed to Daily Sun
recently that to become a successful artiste in life, one
must be submissive and focused.
Born in Ikale, Okitipupa LGA of Ondo State, Fasuyi, who came
into entertainment industry in 2003 said, “Then I showcased
my acting talent in a Yoruba movie entitled Anipulapo as directed
by Femi Philips.” She explained how she was inspired
into acting by a brother and friend, Lekan Ayinde, who equally
discovered her talents as a writer, motivational speaker,
reporter, producer and director. All these enabled her to
feature in other Yoruba films such as Adiye Abuja, Arobi and
Adunmin among others.
Her words, “I’m the producer of Aso Iboiwa (Behind
the Garment) which will hit the market soon. I am also the
author of The Vision for Success & How to Overcome Life
Situation. I came into acting to make a difference in the
world, I want to use my talent to change the lives of the
female youth and the nation in particular, I also want to
be a role model to my generation”.
Asked about her views on Nollywood, Fasuyi observed, “Nollywood
is a promising industry, I see the nation turning better in
the hands of Nollywood, we are blessed with artistes who are
intelligent and popular, but the problem is that we lack cooperation
and understanding, we can even do better than Hollywood if
there’s cooperation.”
Fasuyi, who is also the Project Manager of The Classic Magazine
said her targeted audience cut across the female youth, noting
that her role models include her mum, Jaunita Bynum, Oprah
Winfrey, an American cleric and journalist as well as Joke
Sylva. She said that she’s still single but hopes to
get married in a couple of years.
To her fans and up-coming artistes, Fasuyi advised, “your
destiny is in your hands, you can shape or disfigure it yourself,
the way you see yourself depend on how far you can go.
