Winner of the Next Movie Star reality TV show, Ghanaian Enoch Hammond has vowed to cause a revolution in his country’s movie industry.

Brimming with joy, Enoch told Blockbuster that apart from working hard, his winning the competition was divine as he had observed a three-day fasting and prayer, with a covenant with God that he would love to raise the Ghanaian flag in the Next Movie Star house.

"I feel good, I feel very great. Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord, for making me the eventual winner of the show. I think my winning the competition was divine. Without anybody’s knowledge, I had three days fasting and prayer in the house. My housemates didn’t know that I was not eating, but I knew what I was doing. I made a covenant with God that I want to raise the Ghana Flag in NMS, and this He has done for me," he enthused.

However, Enoch has pledged to take home the experience he had acquired in the Next Movie Star, and cause a revolution in the movie industry. "I will take the experience acquired here to Ghana. I am going to cause a revolution in the movie industry of my country. Just watch out," he boasted.
Nine Nigerians and seven Ghanaians had started the race two months ago. They included Adesewa Ogunleyimu, Uti Nwachukwu, Diana Oribioye, Ameh Lucy Franscesca, Abimbola Olufunmilayo, Adekunle Johnny, Adebello Ayorinde, Olufemi Oshinuga and Kayode Oredugba. Others are Enoch Hammond, Lilian Lartai, Lydia Forson, Martha Ankomah, Emmanuel Mettle, Johannes Maier and Monica Osei-Tutu.

The race to the final had been hot. All seemed normal on Friday, October 5, being the last day in the House. The Housemates had gone through their normal routine including the script for a play some few hours before the declaration. Suddenly, the deep voice of Salagashi echoed, the voice that had lived with them for one month told the Housemates that they had come to the end of this year's NMS. The voice later introduced and ushered in Porttia Yamahan, who won in 2006, Kingsley Ogboso 2005 winner and a frontline movie director, Dickson Ireogbu.

After congratulating the six finalists: Martha, Lucy, Enoch, Lydia, Olufemi, and Uti, there seemed to be an unusual calm as tension and anxiety resonated in the house.
Who wins the NMS 2007? But then Ogboso broke the silence, with a smile on his face, he announced Martha as the second runner up. Yamahan declared Uti as the first runner up. And Ireogbu had the singular honour of announcing the winner, Enoch Hammond.

However, for Martha, it was joy all the way as the beautiful Ghanaian felt she had finally gotten a platform to express herself. She said: "Oh, my next plan! By God’s grace, I have a contract with Lancelot Imasuen, one of the best Directors in Nigeria. I hope to shoot that movie with him and I pray to God that movie directors will come looking for me. I am also very hopeful for the future with this platform given to me.

I am very grateful to my fans and admirers for their votes, what they’ve been saying about me on the Internet, TV and newspapers everywhere in Nigeria and Ghana. I pray God bless you really good. Thank you very much".

Enoch will be going back to Ghana with fabulous prizes like a brand new Geely car, N.5m cash, a flat in a choice area in Lagos and three movie contracts. The first and the second runners up have two and a movie contract respectively with Digital Interactive Media (DIM), organizers of the NMS amidst other fabulous prizes. The other evictees will equally have chance of debuting in the three movies to be produced by DIM.

Meanwhile, the organizers are perfecting plans to throw a winner’s party in Nigeria and Ghana. The Next Movie Star is sponsored by Haier Thermocool, PZ Cussons (Ghana), Hyra Motors (makers of Geely), Guinness, Mikano, Teledom, Alan water, Reckitt Benckiser, Erykah (professional make up artist) and Pagaimoh Creations.
