Are you a girl with beauty and brain? Are you single and

of showbiz stars without being star struck? Okay, this is

the Nigerian Music Awards Hostess Search begins today in Lagos.
The process of choosing the lucky girls who will each receive
mouth-watering gifts and prizes in the NMA South West zonal
hostess search will hold today at the Waterparks, Toyin Street,
Ikeja.
According to Tony Okoroji, chief organiser, the hostess search
is aimed at promoting national integration and the best values
of Nigerian womanhood using the Nigerian Music Awards as a
platform.
For this reason, the search is usually a tedious affair because
apart from being beautiful, each hostess must exhibit excellent
manners, good carriage and be a good ambassador of the state
that she represents.
All those who had the good fortune of attending the Grand
Return of the Nigerian Music Awards in Abuja in 2007 will
forever remember the moment when the 37 queens, each dressed
in national green with a dash of white, made their majestic
entry into the Africa Hall of the International Conference
Centre. A few hearts must have missed a beat.
After today, the hostess search continues next week as it
moves to Abuja for the Northern Zonal contest, which holds
at the poolside of Chelsea Hotels & Suites, Abuja on Saturday,
April 26, 2008.
However, the grand finale of the 2008 NMA hostess search will
take place on May 3, 2008 in Owerri, the capital of Imo State,
which is the first state in the 19 year history of the Nigerian
Music Awards to host Nigeria’s most glamorous entertainment
event. The contest takes place at the prestigious Imo Concorde
Hotel.
Blockbuster learnt that hundreds of beautiful girls wishing
to be part of the historic NMA Imo 2008 have kept the nmaimo2008.com
website busy as they fill their forms online to be eligible
for the contest.
Meanwhile, the First Lady of Imo State, Barrister Chioma Ohakim
has called on all those involved in getting Imo State ready
to host the NMA to ensure that nothing is left to chance in
seeing that the 2008 NMA, the first to be hosted by any state,
is a monumental success.
Mrs. Ohakim, the Chief Hostess of the 2008 NMA, who had a
two hour meeting with members of the State Organizing Committee
at State House, Owerri on April 13, 2008, charged the committee
to do everything possible to ensure that every Imo citizen
is made proud of the historic opportunity given to the state
to host the prestigious Nigerian Music Awards.
The Chairman of the State organizing Committee who is also
the State Commissioner for Commerce & Industry, Chief
Ben Obinali at the meeting informed the First Lady that all
hands are on deck to make sure that the cherished warmth and
hospitality of the people of Imo State is put on display during
the NMA weekend when Imo State will be playing host to stars
from far and near.
Chief Obinali promised the First Lady a very successful NMA
IMO 2008, saying that with two other commissioners who are
crack administrators and three Special Advisers to the Governor
in his committee, the committee is primed for success.
The celebrated NMA Soul Flights with stars from every walk
of life and on board live entertainment will land at Sam Mbakwe
Airport Owerri on Friday, May 23, 2008 as the many activities
of the NMA IMO 2008 kick off in style.
