It is not yet ascertained what actually prompted the unruly
behaviour of music star, Timaya in a church of God, of all
places.
A close source hinted Off the Stage that the Egberi Papa One
of Bayelsa recently stormed the Ressurection Praise Chapel
aka Jehovah Sharp Sharp located in Satelite Town, Lagos, which
his girlfriend, sultry actress Empress Njama attends, to recover
a Honda pilot jeep given to her when the going was good.
Having hit splitville on allegation of infidelity, Timaya
persuaded Empress to return the SUV but no dice. He then felt
the church would be the best place to forcefully recover it,
hence the invasion of God’s sanctuary.
But the whole thing turned out a show of shame as the dem
papa, dem mama crooner caused a big stir when he entered the
church, and not minding the solemn ambience, walked up and
down frantically looking for Empress thus distracting the
worshippers to no end.
An usher who accosted Timaya thinking he was looking for a
place to sit got a rude elbow which attracted the security
arm of the church. Garbed in long sleeve shirt and red jean
pants, Timaya sweating profusely was bundled out of the church
and even then started making trouble. Two gun shots followed
in quick succession as the police descended on the artiste,
dragging him by the collar of his shirt to FESTAC police station
for further interrogation.
Off the Stage feels it’s time for Timaya to heed the
advice of Nico Grafitti, who said stardom is getting to his
head and that he should take life easy.
