The traditional ruler of Agodo Egbe in Ikotun, Lagos, Oba Mudashiru Odejobi, has appealed to the Lagos State government to come to the aid of the community by fixing the deplorable roads in the area.

The oba and his council of chiefs made the call recently in his palace after they met to discuss the deplorable state of roads in the area. They particularly called on the government to help save residents of Alhaja Amudalatu Street from the erosion inflicted trauma they usually go through during rainy season, which they said had destroyed the road.

Oba Odejobi explained that because of the topography of the street, flood from other adjoining streets usually flow into it, adding that because of lack of drainage system, it was difficult for the street to accommodate the flood.

He also appealed to Governor Babatunde Fashola to construct a drainage system in the street and other parts of the area and resume construction work on the Agodo Egbe community road.

According to the Oba, contract for the construction of the road, which was awarded sometime ago, had long been abandoned, thereby causing untold hardship to the residents.
Some residents of the area also narrated how most of the houses in the area get flooded each time there is downpour.
A vist by Daily Sun to the area indicated that roads in the area are bad, while plywoods were used to construct bridges.
