• Idiare receiving his certificate

The investiture ceremony of the Reverend Dr. Ighareduo Akokimonu Idiare as bishop was recently held with pomp. The ceremony was also to celebrate the conferment of the award of Ambassador of Universal Peace Federation on Bishop Idiare by the Department of the United Nations responsible for brokering peace throughout the world.

Provost, Biu University, Portugal and UN Ambassador for Peace, Bishop A. J. Osamuyi led the team of officiating bishops which included Bishop John Nwobodo and Dr. Diamond Egbamu to conduct the ordination and investiture.

Explaining the modalities for Idiare’s consecration to the office of bishop, Bishop Osamuyi said humility and faithfulness were the virtues that stood the new bishop out. Humility, he stressed, is a cardinal virtue to be possessed by anyone who aspires to excel in life.
The cleric maintained that wise, intelligent and diligent people are hardly found to be loud. “Listen to me ladies and gentlemen, paper money does not make noise; it is the coin that makes noise”.

Corroborating Osamuyi’s remarks on Idiare, Nwobodo said: “He is a man that we have found faithful and very humble and upright.” This remark was followed by heavy bombardment of soul-searching questions which the co-officiating bishop noted were to ascertain the recipient’s worthiness for the office.
Questions asked were on his personal and family life, especially his love for and faithfulness to his wife. Also, he was examined on his relationship with his associates, congregation and general conduct in executing his task in the Lord’s vineyard.

He answered all questions to the satisfaction of his examiners.
Archbishop Odiakosa of Victory Word of Faith Ministries led the team of officiating bishops that prayed for Bishop Idiare. He prayed for the Lord’s hand to be upon the new Bishop. He also prayed that God should grant him increase, sound health of body and mind as well as good discernment.

While presenting the award to the beneficiary, Bishop Osamuyi explained some of the benefits that come with being a Universal Ambassador for Peace. These include a visa-free trip to about 222 countries and a 50 percent reduction in airfare while flying with France, Delta or Lufthansa Airlines.

Bishop Osamuyi spoke on the significance of the award. “By the grace of God, we are bringing in men of God, men filled with the Holy Ghost who will use their God-given wisdom to calm every war in every state and every country. Already, the Universal Peace Federation has been in the vanguard of ensuring peace everywhere. And we will continue to work for peace until global peace is achieved, God willing.”

Afterwards, Bishop Idiare shared his joy with Daily Sun. “I feel elated. I’m happy and I’m grateful to God for His mercy upon my life,” he said. On the challenges of his new office, he said: “I’m equal to the task. I am mature enough to weather the storm and I’m spiritually prepared. More so, I have been working as a bishop for a long time. And as for the Ambassador of Peace, well, I am a peacemaker and all my life, I have been brokering peace even right from my community.”
