The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has stumbled on N9,500 coins abandoned by an unknown persons at Dick Railway line in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The coins, which were sealed in six packs and kept in a box, were said to have been discovered by security agents and efforts to trace the owners have not yielded any positive results.

“We have gone on air to inform the members of the public, there has been no response. Also, we reported the case to CBN in Ibadan. The response was that they don’t have such money missing from the company,” the Deputy Commandant, Mr. Joel Khestossen told Daily Sun.

The Oyo State Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Mr. Olusesan Olukile, who commended NSCDC for the good job, told Daily Sun that the security agency invited the commission to see the packs of coins after they were found.
Meanwhile, Khestossen has said that the recovered coins would be handed over to the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ade Abolurin, who would, in turn, hand them over to the appropriate quarters.
