The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Satellite Town Division, Mr. Raimi Ahmed has been stabbed by people suspected to be naval personnel.
The incident occurred in a hotel premises, a stone’s throw to the division.

Daily Sun gathered that the DPO, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), had gone to the hotel in company of one other policeman, Ahmed, following a distress call before they were accosted by three naval ratings.

A source told Daily Sun that as soon as one of the naval personnel sighted the DPO, he exclaimed: "Eh! This is the man who has been preventing us from doing what we want to do."
He said the naval men started pushing the DPO around while one of them brought out his dagger and stabbed him severally.

The DPO was said to have been rescued from the hands of the angry naval personnel and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Investigations revealed that the DPO has since been discharged from the hospital after treatment.
When Daily Sun visited the Area ‘E’ police command, the three naval ratings were sighted there.
The Area ‘E’ commander, Mr. Dave Ajibola Akiremi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), confirmed the incident.
