Lagos to boost security
with high street lights

In order to boost the security of lives and properties, Lagos
State government has concluded plans to install 56 high street
lamps in the 20 local government areas of the state. The projects
is to be executed in phases.
The Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ganiyu
Johnson who disclosed this to journalists said the project
is part of Governor Raji Fashola’s administration to
enhance the security of lives and property in the state.
According to him the project would be executed in three phases
with the first phase consisting of 15 high street lamps now
almost completed.
Johnson said that the second phase would take off this January
while the remaining phase would be executed next year.
He said that the street lights which have been completed are
the ones in Igando Road in Alimosho, Ojora Street, Ajegunle,
Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Simpson Street, Ebute Metta,
Oba Akran, Ikeja, Palm Avenue, Mushin, Eric Moore Road.
Others include Samide Odujirin Kosefe, Old Ipaja Road, Ray
Power Road.
A breakdown of the benefiting local government is as follows:
Agege (four), Amuwo Odofin (one), Ajeromi Ifelodun (two),
Badagry (two), Epe (One), Ikeja (eight), Ikorodu (three),
Ifako Ijaiye (four), Kosofe (four), Lagos Mainland (three),
Mushin (three), Oshodi/Isolo (six), Ojo (two), Somolu (two),
Surulere (three) and Ibeju Lekki (one).
