Bangles have always been great accessory for stylish women. They are not foreign to the fashion scene at all. However, today, home made bangles, especially leather type have taken the shine off the normal bangles.

Yemisi Olagbaiye, a graduate of the University of Lagos, a design consultant says home made bangles portrays the true African identity. She said: “They are not common bangles because they are not mass produced. “Each bangle is designed according to users specification.

“One advantage the wearer has is that she makes what she likes and what suits her outfit. In addition, you are allowed to experiment with colours.

“And since the leather bangles hit the Nigerian market, it has gone through all kinds of transformation. Many have attested to its uniqueness and quality which makes heads turn, no matter the event.”
Olugbaiye’s wares comes mostly in soft leather, which could be accessorized with shinning objects and appliqués. She also informs that home made bangles, like home-made cotton and clothes are durable.
“The leather bangles are so durable that it lasts for generations,” she said.
