Jeans is a universal apparel. There is hardly any place in
the world that jeans are not known. It is one outfit everyone
loves to wear because it accommodates the rich, the poor,
old and young.
While everyone loves jeans, only a few know how to maintain
their jeans.
Yes, the fabric is thick and rugged, and could withstand any
condition. Therefore wearers are warned because improper handling
of this material could spoil the fun for the owner.
While washing your jeans, you should avoid using bleach. You
are likely to loose the beauty if you bleach your colored
jeans. This may not be applicable if you are washing your
white jeans. The quickest way to damage your jeans is to use
chemical to wash it. Some drycleaners are guilty of this.
So, let your dry cleaner know that no matter the stain he
should avoid cleaning your jeans with chemicals.
You should know that the first time you wash your jeans, wash
it alone.
It is not advisable to dry your jeans in a dryer. Too much
exposure to sunlight could also have negative effect on the
colour of your denim. It is recommended that you always lay
your jeans on a towel to dry or if possible, hang them with
clothe spin so that no part of the jeans is folded over.
It has also been recommended that you keep your jeans looking
best. It is better to wash them in cold water.
Many people tend to use much detergent on their jeans; but
there is no need for it. If you are washing a pair of jeans,
add a spoonful of salt to help preserve the colour.
