People are being identified by what they eat and how rich their meals appear. People referred to as less privileged, find solace in eating what they think can be cheap and plenty in quantity like vegetables, grains, fish, nuts, corns and local cucumber referred to as “GUNLI” in Hausa language.

But little do they know that cheap and plenty in quantity foods, are the most pleasant diet one can ask for in life, but when the opportunity comes in life people move from their normal food which is barely known to them that it adds more life in them to that of the consumption of meats in different types whether roasted, fried, grilled, or boiled.

It has been observed in some restaurants and homes that people rarely order for fish meat because meats have become the priority in people’s everyday meal.
It is obvious that meat is rich in protein and their bones provide calcium, others like liver, kidney, and heart contains vitamin B they hav their side effects especially when it is being consumed at a more higher rate, observation was made and I found out that people who that they have everything in life eat more than five pieces meats in a plate of meal unknowingly for them that they are killing one of their system unintentionally.

Meat especially red meats was said earlier in life that it served as a means of infectious diseases and parasites but nowadays due to improvement and cleanliness/hygiene in animals especially cows has led to the reduction in the bacteria and parasite contamination of meat. However meat derived from the intensive cattle which are reared in forms and even foods which are artificial, hormones for rapid fattening, antibiotics, tranquilizers which combat stress and a list of artificial chemicals substances have detrimental effects.{Daily Trust’s Home Front 11.03.06}

Just like in human bodies when exercise is not embraced there is likely to be high percent of fats in the body unlike the exercised body in. in this case human body is like an animals body according to Dr. George Pamplona Roger an author of new lifestyle made in his statement that ‘cattle bedded under sedentary conditions may likely to be lean in nature but it contains much harmful fats in its body”.

Meat fats contributes to the increase in cholesterol in the blood when it is too much in the blood it causes diseases of the heart and once they are deposited on the arterial walls blood finds it difficult and hard to flow and when this occurs the sides of the arteries become thick, stiff and hard which will make the heart to work two times harder to pump blood through the body and during this incident one can develop stroke which science refer to as CEREBRAL THROMBOSIS.
Vegetables can provide the protein needed and it controls and assists to reduce the level of blood cholesterol.

Meanwhile according to recent researchers they revealed that heavy consumption of processed foods rich in meat like meat pies, sausages, cheese, and eggs have a total risk of cancer 3.6 times greater than non-consumers Philips and Snowdon.{Daily Trust Home Front}
Eggs most especially to adult can be of danger to them when consumed at higher rate because it contributes to fats related heart disease.
It is important to know that certain cancers are directly gotten from the rate of animals fats consumed in the diet.

When rats are fed with benzopyrene they develop leukemia [i.e. a disease where not enough normal blood cells are produced because too many white blood cells that are not normal are produced instead.] and stomach cancer. {Healthy eating magazine.}
Nigerians who have formed the habit of eating more than two balls of meat in a meal or those who have abandoned their usual diet of fish and vegetables because of new turn out wealth are hereby advised to discontinue over consumption of meat instead they should eat more of vegetables for it will give them a better and longer life.
