The anointing oil is not just an ordinary oil, but the Spirit of God. My take here is, an oil is not anointed until it is prayed upon. In its ordinary form, it cannot be a symbol of the Holy Spirit until the power of God is communicated through it to its user via prayer.

Therefore, every oil in the market is not a symbol of the Holy Spirit, only the anointed oil is. The anointing oil is a medium through which the Holy Spirit is invoked to intervene on man’s behalf. It communicates the personality of the Spirit of God, as the Holy Spirit goes into manifestation whenever the oil is applied. Heretic? To carnal minds only. God is a Spirit, and they who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth, too.

The level of the anointing oil is the level of the application of the Spirit of Faith, the highest order of expression of faith, which non-spiritual minds cannot fathom. There are three levels of faith. The word of faith, which is the saving faith, the gift of faith, via the apostolic ministries and the spirit of faith, the application of which is unfathomable to carnal minds. It is the level that takes any believer to unquenchable zeal for the Lord.
It has been that every faith movement is an extension of the previous movement. It is always one move that gives birth to the next. The spirit of faith can always be impacted by those who have it. Every movement of the spirit always draws from the immediate past. It is connecting with men with the spirit of faith that gets one impacted with the spirit of faith Not by too much learning or warring.

If you don’t have it, you simply don’t have it. God doesn’t think you can manage it. He thinks you might blow it. Then will you try to muzzle another because you don’t have what he has? Cain tried to muzzle Abel, but the blood of Abel still speaks today, even of better things. Tithing: Compulsory or Optional?
Abraham, the patriarch, when he met Melchizedek, king of Salem set a good example for us when he gave him a tithe of all he had. Apostle Paul following the precedent, gave orders to the churches to maintain this command. Jacob gave to the Lord, a tenth of all he had and God by himself apportioned to the Levites (priests), a tenth of all the offerings of the Israelites for an inheritance. So there has been a precedent.

Sometime ago, I sought to outsmart God by half. l was looking at my salary thinking, after l have removed this, how much would it be left. I critically savoured every critical verse of the scripture that has a thing to say on it. While the exercise lasted, l noticed that my finances went down and everything around me seemed to be giving way. l heard God say to me, that He has given me free will, to chose either to obey Him and be blessed, or to disobey and have the devourer destroy the works of my hand. I choose the former and heavens opened.

On churches setting up schools from members’ contribution: Nigeria needs this injection from the private sector. And if the churches leads the way, it does not suggest that these schools are charitable organizations. And if it was from members’ contributions, were they coarsed to give or did they give freely?
There was a time l wanted my children in Faith Academy and in Covenant University, but my pocket said otherwise. I was bitter then that l couldn’t afford it and battled within myself. The Lord spoke to me by the mouth of his servant, my Bishop (Oyedepo) in one of the Sunday services.

He said “some of you sell everything you have to send your children to school, why not look for a school you can conveniently afford? Whether public school or private school, what makes the difference is divine wisdom and not the school.” I caught that vision and found another mission school for them. Who says the pastors in such ministries are not benefiting from them? Will you be outside the camp and tell the people what happens in the camp where they are?
Of visibility or invisibility of pastors’ wives:

Our brother said it right this time, only in this one thing: ‘The call of God can be upon a family or an individual. Let’s assume those ministers and their wives are called, do we then condemn them or write them off as people not called? Their working together in the Lord’s vineyard, does it suggest two captains in a ship? Not the least.

An effective minister must indeed have a peaceful home, kept by a God-fearing woman who understands what is the purpose of his calling and helps in every way possible to assist him in fulfilling it. She may be also called into her own ministry or may not. In most cases when she is called, it is to a supportive ministry. God is not a God of confusion.

Any ministry whose foundation is rooted in Christ, is not a family business. And if the Lord in His omnipotent wisdom chooses to have the wives of the ministers pasture the flock of that ministry when the saint returns to glory as in Church of God Mission and others, who are we to judge Him? He is the Lord, let Him do as He pleases.
Let us be more tolerant of others as believers, as our gifts are different. The Lord knows those who are His, and He has not placed judgement in any man’s hands. The Lord can fight for Himself.
