Ungodly messages reign on radio – Emmanuel

"We have commenced our radio evangelism broadcast called Amazing Truth on IBC Orient (94.4) FM Radio, Owerri, Imo State," declared the ecclesiastical couple Buchi and Oby Emmanuel, who head Angelhearts Christian Mission, also known as Storehouse of Blessings, an inter-denominational Christian ministry in Owerri. Their programme focuses on "the manifold grace of God" and how prayers can combine with wisdom to produce miracles. Emmanuel spoke with Daily Sun about his ministry’s radio project.

Why are you doing a radio show?
This is a fieldwork result of answering our divine call to labour in the vineyard of the Lord (Luke 10 v 2). It is a practical and modern way to reach out to people with the gospel of Christ (Romans 10 v 17) and it is very effective due to its multiplication and attentive advantage among listeners.

We cannot miss out or spare this medium we obviously know is bombarded with ungodly messages daily from unbelievers. Our world of light must be leading to show the way to this world (Matthew 5 v 14).

What led to the idea?
We have a mandate from the word of God that decrees that we preach the gospel to the ends of the earth (Mark 16 v 15) and the Holy Spirit has equipped us with the wisdom to know what to say and how to say it according to inspiration derived from the word of God for salvation, deliverance, healing, safety, establishment and prosperity (John 8 v 32). Furthermore, we see it as an obedience of sacrificial love of worship for God and divine hospitality to our neighbours (Matthew 22 v 37-40) necessary in our gifts and calling (Romans 11 v 29).

Why do you call it Amazing Truth?
The spirit of God that has taught us to know God in love and then fear His awesome works leads us. The word we preach is truth (John 17 v 17) and the works of this word are amazing (Luke 4 v 36) itself to the glory of God.

What's the form of the programme?
The spirit is one but operations and administration may differ (1 Corinthians 12 v 4 - 6). At present, it is aired for a few minutes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at about 4:30pm on IBC Orient (94.4) FM Radio, Owerri, Imo State. During these moments, we simply try to bring the knowledge of the word of God inspirationally to His people and together with prayers, we leave such understanding with them to renew their minds, transform their lives and make them able to reform their environments for their victory, peace and joy and to the glory of God in the highest.

What challenges do you face in running the show?
As would be expected, it takes funds, materials, equipment and human resources to produce these evangelical media teachings and to keep them on air. We have kept trusting God for our provisions, for His vision, for His people and He has remained faithful in drawing beloved covenant partners who have understood the glorious revelation of these verses (Romans 10 v 13 - 15, Mathew 10 v 7 and 11; 1 Timothy 6 v 17 -19), who have continued to help in sponsoring this evangelism through their sacrificial offerings, goodwill and prayers. We continue to pray for them and bless their lives in Christ Jesus and are determined to see them remain peculiar to the glory of God.

What's the public response to your programme like?
Certainly and according to His words (Mark 16 v 20), it has been most rewarding to our souls and glorious to heaven to see people receive knowledge and prayers to become born -again or restored as practical Christians (believers). Our report is that while some are delivered from the evil captivity of Satan, some others are healed miraculously by faith in the name of Jesus Christ. Also, some that have lived in fear are granted the unfailing safety of the Almighty, some others established in righteousness to live a pre-destined life, and many prospering and preserved with increase in family, business, career, education and health matters. What's your ambition for the programme?
Still trusting His words in Philippians 4 v 19, soon we know that Amazing Truth will be on air in every state in Nigeria and beyond and that our Almighty God in His time will bring forward worthy/noble men and women in every state and country with a strong persuasion in their spirit, who will diligently carry this responsibility of serving the Lord by partnering with our inter-denominational ministry, Angelhearts Christian Mission (Storehouse of Blessings) to spread His word, touch lives and keep this dream alive. We know we are able to, trusting the truth in Philippians 4 v 13.
