Okechukwu Okoro, financial and management consultant and
a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management believes
that proliferation of churches must be checked because people
are deceived everyday as all manner of churches spring up.
Relationship with God
I have a deep and strong relationship with God. Being human,
I sometimes derail in keeping his statues and ordinances,
but what makes the difference is my ability to restrain from
evil and retrace my steps as I ask for forgiveness.
Power in prayer
Prayers are powerful tools for any Christian. I consciously
pray four times on a good day. When human nature fails, I
try to make up because prayer reassures me. Prayer brings
deeper confidence and facilitates my expectations from God.
I read the Bible as often as I pray. Though lately I have
been backsliding I just pray and off I go. But I do know,
that each time I read the bible, it refreshes and reassures
me. It reveals indepth God’s plans for we that seek
his righteousness.
Crisis in the church
First of all, I do not believe that there is crisis in the
church of God, but if you mean the distractions of men who
make the house of God their family business, who bring secular
politicking to the house of God, then I say, I have a word
for them. The word of God is the word of life, it never changes.
The word of God has never changed but for men who bring confusion
and dishonour to the house of God they shall be whipped and
chastised like Jesus did to the traders and currency traffickers
in the house of God. He will surely bring judgment upon them.
Proliferation of churches in Nigeria
It must be checked. People are deceived everyday as all manner
of church spring up. My advice is look only to your God and
not to man; for the heart of man is full of deceit and wickedness.
Disappointment by God
I used to, in the past, say, God why me? But since I gave
any life to God, I see disappointments as bobby-traps from
the devil. I have learnt to always have a plan ‘B’
at any given time. Always looking and rising above every situation
as I look forward to God. The Bible says in all situation
we should give glory to God. Good or bad, He shall surely
deliver us.
