Miracle is a gift of God to the church, which has been badly
abused, says Mrs. Favour Osayinmwen.
Osayinmwen also spoke on her relationship
with God, which she described as father-daughter relationship.
Power
in prayer
I so much believe in prayer and see it as the key to reaching
God’s heart. Prayer is also the tool to open heavens, to get to God, know
what He has in store for me and know what He requires of us. Without prayer, we
are like a walking blind, just like a bat and we are not complete. Prayer is a
two-way thing. It is the means to be in communion with your creator. We need to
always be in communion with God, while walking, washing, cooking even while driving.
Being
born again
Yes, I believe in being born again. It is a gift of the
Holy Spirit not one’s strength or power. The Bible says that except by the
Holy Spirit, no one can call Jesus Lord. So, in essence, it is by God’s
grace and mercy that we can get born again. And this I do by allowing Him to direct
my life, take orders from Him and submit my life to Him.
Fake men
of God
The Bible, in various sections, makes mention of this fact.
That is to say that there are fake men of God. Just as there are angels of light,
so are there angels of darkness. Today, we have many false prophets in the guise
of men of God clothed in sheep’s clothes but wolves in the real sense of
the word. These fake men of God are actually fulfilling what the scripture says.
We need to pray for the spirit of the Most High to enable us discern between
the fake and the genuine. They will always be here. But we have to go also by
what the Bible says that both real and false prophets be allowed to grow, and
on the last day, the false ones will be uprooted and thrown into the unquenchable
lake of fire.
Miracles
Miracles are good signs of our
faith in the Supreme Being. Jesus says, “without miracles, how will the
people believe.” It is God’s gift to the church and signs to know
that Jesus is with the church. God Almighty is an awesome God and through miracles,
He reveals that He has all things in control. However, one unfortunate thing is
that the generation of pastors today have abused this wonderful gift. It is no
longer news that many pastors go to get occultic powers to work miracles. This
is a way of making themselves relevant spiritually, but it is not all Christians
that can be deceived. All these do not count. What really matters is one’s
personal relationship with God.
Judgement
I believe
in judgement. We are told that there is a day of reckoning. This is a day when
all sojourners on planet earth would go to give accounts of their stewardship
on earth. That day is the judgement day. God sent us here on a mission. On that
day, He will require an account of our mission on earth.
Disappointments
God
has never disappointed me. I think I should add that in my life, I have not heard
anyone say that God has disappointed him or her. There are times when I would
pray fervently and have a discerning spirit in me that God has heard me. Though
my requests are not always granted often . He shows me through one way or the
other why my needs were not granted. At such times, there is always an inner peace,
which I often experience within me.
Devil’s existence
The
story in one of the books of the scriptures of the war between the devil and the
angel of God (Angel Michael) confirms to us that the devil exists. He was defeated
in that battle and pushed down into the world. This is why the Bible says, "woe
unto the inhabitants of the earth, that the devil, the accuser of the brethren
has come unto you". If anyone ever doubts the devil’s existence, the
story of the devil’s activities in the story of Job is a good example of
his existence.
Secret of happiness
The sure way to
having a happy and fulfilled life is knowing God, having a good relationship with
Him because He is the life fountain of joy and happiness. For me, it does not
matter what the situation is, I have God as my friend, lover, brother and father.
And in this way, I derive my happiness. |
