Sister Kemi Akinjo is a vibrant choir mistress that believes
that music could move the hand of God to release blessings on His creation.
Akinjo,
a banker, explained that it was through music that David became ‘A man after
God’s heart’.
In a chat with Daily Sun, she explained her relationship
with God, among other things.
Concept of God
God is
the Almighty. He is the creator of heaven and earth. He created man and all things
that have been in the past, things that are at present and things to come in future.
He is behind everything that happens. God is all in all.
Relationship
with God
My relationship with God is that of a father and daughter.
He is my father because I acknowlege who he is. I know he is a sovereign God and
that he cares for me. I speak with him as I talk to somebody. He ministers to
me th rough the Holy Spirit.
Tithes and offering
A
tithe is one tenth of ones income. It may be paid daily, weekly or monthly. As
for me, when you pay tithes and offering, according to the scripture that says
that you should bring all tithes to the house of God that there will be food,
before you know it, you will be greatly blessed. The following month, you will
not experience any form of lack because God will honour his words. It has happened
to me. When I refused to pay my tithe, things are always tough, but after a few
month of obeying God’s commandment, I saw the glory of God.
Music
ministration
I thank God I was born into a Christian home and brough
up in a Christian way. My dad is a pastor, any my mum a lady evangelist. When
I was growing up, I used to gather people in my school and sing for them. Then,
when I listened to any music, I mimed it. I started by singing the songs of Ojo
Ade, Niyi Adedokun and Pastor Sola Rotimi, among others. I gathered my schoolmates
and mimed those songs. Later, I joined a choir in the church I attended. During
my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), programme I was a lead diector in the
choir. I grew up with music. It is part of me. Music has been known to move God’s
hands to release blessings. Music also is the reason David became the apple of
God’s eyes.
Heaven and hell
Heaven and hell is
real. On this earth, one experiences heaven. At times, I see myself in a realm
of heaven. I see myself not in this world again because I see myself communicating
with God. We see it in pictures, messages, film and we know hell is real. It is
also a known fact that hell is meant for followers of the devil and heaven is
meant for the followers of Christ. People who know where they are going will know
they are in heaven and people who do not know where they are going may finally
find themselves in hell.
Miracles
I believes in miracles
because I have experienced them myself. God used me in the lives of people. When
people are down and I encourage them, I always see them getting relief in their
lives. As an example, my job is a miracle. It came at a time I wasn’t even
expecting it.
Proliferation of churches
The Bible says
by their fruit, you shall know them. It also said I know my followers, I know
those that are mine and they know me. I don’t know much, but if you are
following God, you will know in your heart. If you are being misled you will surely
know.
Has God ever disappointed you?
Never, I know
my God will never disappoint me. Even after I had finished my service and graduated
and there was no job, my faith wanted to waver and I started questioning God.
I didn’t know that God would surprise me and that my glory would eventually
shine. God showed himself, telling me not to worry and he provided a good job
for me. I have never been disappointed by God. I know he will not disappoint me.
Born
again
Beign born again means that one is a new creation, old things
that one normally does would pass away. Being born into a Christian home does
not make one a born again Christian. I used to do somethings not right and yet
I prayed. By the time I grew up and I knew who Christ is, my life has not been
the same. Even when I face trial I always stand on my faith. Sometimes when something
happen, I say God is real. If you are a born again, you will see God and communicate
with him directly. One will find it difficult to go into sin. Our inner mind will
tell you that you are a new creature. One will see oneself progressing in the
things of God. I became born again in 1994 and I thank God for it because before
then, I used to fight, I was stubborn.
