In a bid to provide holidaymakers, couples and families opportunity to recreate and refresh in conducive environment, leading luxury bus operator, ABC Transport, has announced a summer tour package that will take them to Accra at budget costs.

The tour package known as ABC Summer Tours offers every holiday seeker and tourist a perfect getaway from the hustle of modern living. The summer tours has various categories such as Adventure Tour, which is a seven-day tour; the Explorations Tour, a six-day tour; Navigation Tour which is a five-day tour and The Great Escape, a four-day tour. Each of the tour packages will take the visitor or traveller in and around Ghana in comfort.

The ABC Summer Tours offer customers and prospects not only a chance to travel on-board luxury ABC coaches, but also the opportunity to relax and enjoy the pleasure of browsing the scenic vistas of flora and fauna dotting the West Coast of Africa. More importantly, the traveller or tourist is offered accommodation in a very good hotel, and acquainted with the colonial and modern architecture in one of Africa’s oldest cities – Accra.

For the opportunity of meeting with other families and being acquainted with and making new friends while on tour, ABC Transport has segmented this year’s tour for groups who will like to choose the number of days they will like to spend during the tour. To this end, those on the four days tour which is tagged: “Four Days of Great Escape” was scheduled to depart Lagos from August 1, while those on five days tour will depart Lagos today. Those on six days tour will depart Lagos on August 16, and for those opting for seven days tour tagged: “A Week of Adventure”, their departure date from Lagos is August 26. However, those who would want to leave on an early date but prefer any of the tour packages still have an opportunity.

The take off point is the ABC Transport Terminal 3 Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, while Accra is the destination point of the tourist. In Ghana, the ABC Summer Tours will expose the travellers to places of interest and history, places which infuse respect, reflection, awe, delight and thrill all at once. Whichever tour package the traveller chooses, he or she is expected to enjoy the breathtaking spectacles of Ghana’s National Museum, National Park, Independence/Black Star Square, and the El-mina Castle in Cape Coast built by the Portuguese in 1462, which happens to be the oldest castle in Africa.

Other memorable attractions include the long walk on the terrifying canopy made of seven canopies of about 330m long and 40m high; the Aburi Botanical Garden, a subtle replica of the Garden of Eden, flora-rich and teeming with exotic vegetation: Aburi is built on Akuapem hills and rests on 1,200 feet elevation; and the interesting Web DuBois Centre for Pan-African/Cultural Studies. Bojo Beach, fringed with lush green palms; Akosombo Dam, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world; a cruise aboard Dodi Princess, a modern 200-passenger ship to the Dodi Island, and a visit to the high streets of Accra and Osu are offerings the travellers might find too irresistible, while making out time to shop for pricey Woodin and Kente fabrics.

In another development, more winners have continued to emerge in the monthly ABCS huttle Service Travel and Win Promo that kicked off in January 2008. The latest star prize winner of a 21-inch flat screen Samsung colour TV set is Calabar-based customer Mr. Ekemadu Vitalis with ticket number 0816898.
