‘Why TATA supported Oceanic Football Talent Hunt with 15 cars’

The Executive Director of TATA Africa Services(Nigeria) Limited, marketers of the fast-selling TATA range of motor vehicles in Nigeria, Mr Sudeep Ray, has explained why his company identified with the recently concluded Oceanic Football Talent Hunt coordinated by former Super Eagles captain and mercurial player, Austin Jay Jay Okocha. The company boosted the talent hunt with a donation of 15 brand new cars.

Speaking shortly after the presentation of the cars at the Civic Centre, Lagos,  Mr Ray explained  that the gesture  was part of his company’s contribution to the society and a way of helping the talented young Nigerians realize their dreams through the talent hunt.
According to him,  the gesture was in line with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of his company which responded to a call by Oceanic Bank to assist in promoting young talents who are aspiring to become successful footballers. In his words: “The main motivation is that these are no ordinary boys. They were special boys with huge talents and we need to look after them. It is not easy to be chosen from among thousands of youths. They are special to us”.  

Mr. Ray informed that the company had in this regard provided a total of 15 TATA cars at a hugely subsidized price to the bank as a way of encouraging and contributing to the success of the talent hunt. The cars were made up of 14 Indica Hatchback and one Safari sports utility vehicle(SUV).

Speaking further in respect of the after sales service for the vehicles, he said that “we offered them the same conditions that we give to our esteemed customers”, adding that “we shall also give special attention to them from time to time we will inquire how they are enjoying the cars and bring them in for more free services in other to maintain a personal rapport”.

He also assured on the high quality of the cars, saying they are worth their weight in the money spent on buying them.
According to him, users are sure to get best value for their money because the cars are rugged and durable as evidenced by other TATA products which he said are still on the road after 15 years of use. The TATA boss said that apart from the fact that the vehicles are comfortable and elegantly built, their adaptability and suitability  are attributes which make them a sure preferred choice of Nigerians, just as the availability of spare parts and back-up facilities provided by his company will ensure that the vehicles live up to their full life.
