The Executive Director of TATA Africa Services(Nigeria) Limited,
marketers of the fast-selling TATA range of motor vehicles
in Nigeria, Mr Sudeep Ray, has explained why his company identified
with the recently concluded Oceanic Football Talent Hunt coordinated
by former Super Eagles captain and mercurial player, Austin
Jay Jay Okocha. The company boosted the talent hunt with a
donation of 15 brand new cars.
Speaking shortly after the presentation of the cars at the
Civic Centre, Lagos, Mr Ray explained that the
gesture was part of his company’s contribution
to the society and a way of helping the talented young Nigerians
realize their dreams through the talent hunt.
According to him, the gesture was in line with the Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) of his company which responded
to a call by Oceanic Bank to assist in promoting young talents
who are aspiring to become successful footballers. In his
words: “The main motivation is that these are no ordinary
boys. They were special boys with huge talents and we need
to look after them. It is not easy to be chosen from among
thousands of youths. They are special to us”.
Mr. Ray informed that the company had in this regard provided
a total of 15 TATA cars at a hugely subsidized price to the
bank as a way of encouraging and contributing to the success
of the talent hunt. The cars were made up of 14 Indica Hatchback
and one Safari sports utility vehicle(SUV).
Speaking further in respect of the after sales service for
the vehicles, he said that “we offered them the same
conditions that we give to our esteemed customers”,
adding that “we shall also give special attention to
them from time to time we will inquire how they are enjoying
the cars and bring them in for more free services in other
to maintain a personal rapport”.
He also assured on the high quality of the cars, saying they
are worth their weight in the money spent on buying them.
According to him, users are sure to get best value for their
money because the cars are rugged and durable as evidenced
by other TATA products which he said are still on the road
after 15 years of use. The TATA boss said that apart from
the fact that the vehicles are comfortable and elegantly built,
their adaptability and suitability are attributes which
make them a sure preferred choice of Nigerians, just as the
availability of spare parts and back-up facilities provided
by his company will ensure that the vehicles live up to their
full life.
