The Sun cartoonist wins BBC Award

Chief Cartoonist of The Sun newspapers, Albert Ohams, has emerged winner of the BBC best cartoonist award.
The Cartoon Exhibition Honour in Accountability opened on Tuesday, at the British Council in Abuja, where the works of 12 talented cartoonists, who went through a one and half year intensive workshop in photoshop were exhibited.

Amongst them were, Albert Ohams, Gabriel Erapi of The Sun newspapers, Victor Asowata, Leke Moses of Independent newspapers, Nath Ngerem of Vanguard Newspapers, Benneth Omeka, Niyi Arogbehin of The Punch and Chukwuemeka Emenike of Newswatch .
Others were Idu Ogaba of Leadership newspapers, Aliu Yahaya of Daily Trust and Victor Ifeacho of Anambra newspaper.

Speaking at the exhibition, the Project Director of Nigerian Budget and Monitoring Project, Kingsley Uranta, said the project was aimed at expressing the various corrupt practices and spending of public fund amongst the leaders and public servants.

Also speaking, the famous British cartoonist, Steve Bell of the London newspapers enjoined the government and other agencies to support cartoonists and also advised the politicians to welcome cartoonists rather than see them as enemies.
