Reacting Friday, to the news of his purported suspension
by the Afao Ekiti Ward of the PDP, former governor Ayo Fayose,
while waxing philosophical, urged his supporters and right
thinking people of Ekiti State to disregard the suspension
hoax, insisting that a landlord does not vacate his home for
those he described as tenants and political encroachers.
Dismissing his alleged suspension, Fayose stated: “I
wish to state that my purported suspension by the Afao Ekiti
ward of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should be
ignored by the right thinking people of Ekiti State and beyond.
“The landlord does not vacate his home for tenants and
political encroachers. Their action is not only laughable
but meaningless as time will sort out shaft from the wheat.”
Attributing his supposed suspension to his growing influence
in the state, a development which he said is causing discomfort
to the incumbent Governor Oni, Fayose said: “Oni’s
administration and the current hijackers of the Ekiti PDP
are like the Partridge who sits and wants to hatch eggs its
never laid. I can understand their fears which is as a result
of my ever growing political stature, especially after my
travail and forced exist from Government House.
“Today they believe I may re-contest in case of an election
nullification, hence their usual illegality and desperation
to run me out of the party that I built.
According to Fayose, “my position on the April 14th
election that Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the AC won the election
remain unchanged as truth and justice is the only way peace
can be achieved in our state.
The illegal composition of ESIEC in Ekiti falls short of all
moral political standards and should be condemned by all.”
Stressing his unflinching membership of the PDP, Fayose reminded:
“I remain a bona fide member, leader and first elected
governor under PDP, aside being a major stakeholder and rallying
point in the party and the state.
Am sure that even my political adversaries in Ekiti know I
cannot be pushed over nor can I be intimidated by such meaningless
suspension.
The various development and happenings in our state have clearly
vindicated me and made me a saint compared to the present
administration of illegalities ably installed by former President
Obasanjo of Ota farms. The continuous institutionalization
of illegality in Ekiti remains an issue that will collapse
with the exit of the Oni’s administration after its
sack by the election tribunal.
Let me reassure all my supporters that I have come back
for good and I am fully prepared to give them purposeful leadership
within and without our party, PDP.”
