Not many of the neighbors believed Ademuyiwa Adu would ever
settle down, given the array of beautiful ladies that flocked
his apartment as a bachelor.
But the story changed last December when he met angelic Modupeoluwa
Alade at a Christmas party. They fell in love and were joined
as husband and wife in holy wedlock three months later.
The event, which took place at the Evangelical Church of West
Africa (ECWA), Abesan Estate, Ipaja was the fulfillment of
the expectation of families, friends and well wishers.
Adu, a civil servant in the employment of Lagos State and
his wife, a school teacher took time out to chat with Daily
Sun on how the journey to the altar began and their expectations
from the marriage. The groom spoke first.
How we met
We met last December during the end of the year party of my
family; she came in company of her friend and younger sister.
We had a little chat and I got her phone number. That was
how we got started. I soon found out she could make a good
wife and I asked her out in February.
She got her parents involved, and they asked us to go and
pray about it. We both went into prayers and God took control.
Attraction
She distinguished herself from the crowd, and as we got along,
other features like intelligence, godliness and respect for
people became manifest.
Challenges before parents
Not at all, there was no obstacle. Her father is a Reverend
gentleman, and having realized I’m also a changed person
and new born in Christ, we did not have any problem. My parents
are also Christians, my father in particular is a prophet
with C and S Church.
Pre-marital sex
None. Maybe we would have fallen into temptation if she was
visiting me at home, but she never allowed that. We also learnt
a lot during counseling on how to avoid it, and God helped
us. The two of us were determined not to have sex until after
marriage, and God helped us.
Wife
Likes and dislikes
He likes petting and hates being shouted at, he likes neatness.
When it comes to food, he likes garri with egusi.
He’s the outgoing type and makes friends very easily.
I’m the reserved type, I don’t mix that easily,
but I have nothing against his way of life so long as he gives
my respect.
Expected number of children
I am looking at two while he’s looking at three.
Courtship
We did not court for long, he made the proposal in February
and we married a month later. We are both matured and we believe
God will see us through. We were both open to each other during
courtship, so we don’t envisage any fear. I believe
our marriage will endure. That’s the prayer. That’s
what we’ll work towards. |
