Aderemi and Yetunde Esho are quite interesting. While the groom is an extrovert, the same cannot be said of his bride. (She spoke with a lot of effort during this interview). At their wedding reception held at the Adeyemi Bero Hall, Alausa, Ikeja, the couple spoke on how they met as members of the church choir, the attraction and their plans for children:

YETUNDE
How we met

We met in the church. We are together in the church choir where he is the choir leader. After rehearsal one day, he told me he wanted to see me. I tried avoiding him because I was afraid of men. Eventually, we saw and he told me right there he wanted to marry me and not just having a relationship. I was surprised. That was how the relationship that led to today’s day of joy started.

Attraction
He’s honest, caring and handsome.

Children
Two or three children are enough for us.

ADEREMI
Attraction to his wife

She’s very homely. She’s a natural African woman. She looks good even without make-up. If you see her early in the morning, just waking up, you’ll be satisfied with what you see. She’s naturally beautiful. She’s very patient and morally blesssed. She is not the out-going type. Most importantly, she knows how to cook very well. She knows how to take care of a man. I love egusi and amala and she can cook this very well. Apart from my mum, she’s the best cook in the world.

How we met

The first day I saw her, something in me told me she is my woman. But because I’m the outgoing type and she’s not, I felt she was too natural for me. Later on, thoughts of her kept creeping to my mind. It was just natural that I had to propose to her.

How I proposed
I used all the styles I knew to get us talking, but she kept evading me. But after rehearsal one day, I told her I wanted to see her. I was the choir coordinator. She was shy and as usual, wanted to run away. I had to go after her. There and then I told her I was in love with her. She told me I was older, but I countered that age was no barrier to our relationship.

I told her I would love to go out with her, but not as ordinary girlfriend. I said I wanted a permanent relationship that would lead to marriage. I told her it was pure love. I’m sure she now believes me… (Laughter).
