When Hon. Omolubi Newuwumi met Marian, his heartthrob for the first time, it was like a thunderbolt, but he only managed to recover few moments later. According to Omolubi who is the president, Iwere Development Association (IDA), Marian stole his sleep for days until he was able to penetrate her. He described her as the ‘Queen of the Coast’.

Omolubi, however, admitted that it was not an easy task to finally win his jewel’s heart. So, he decided to organize a big traditional marriage ceremony at Boma town in Sapele. This attracted the cream of the society in Delta State, especially Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and some of his cabinet members.

On her part, Marian was full of thanks to all as she held onto her beloved husband. Omolubi, however, believes that coming together as a couple was by divine intervention.

How we met
I would say that meeting my wife is a long story. We are both family friends and we grew up together.

Love at first sight
Yes, it was love at first sight. I remember when we met initially. Then I started making love advances to her but she was shy.

Attraction
I was attracted to her because of her nice attitude to people and good upbringing. I must say that people like her are rare and very difficult to come by. I know that it is the grace of God that gave me this beautiful woman as my wife.

We understand each other greatly and I tell you that everyday our love grows stronger. I want to advice other married couples to learn and understand each other. I believe that if there is great understanding amongst two people, there won’t be any problem. We have been married for about ten years and because of her dutiful nature and respect things have been working well.

Advice
I will like to advise married people to learn to tolerate each other because they did not grow up in one place and most importantly; they are not of the same parents. If they learn to tolerate one another and advice each other whenever there is misunderstanding, then such a marriage would be successful.

Future
First, I want to say that God ordains marriage; hence I am very happy that mine is not an exception. You can see how happy we are today and I pray it would be better in future. I am grateful to God for making me what I am today. It is true that we are a comfortable family. In addition, God has been so merciful to me and I will continue to sing His praises.

He made me to acquire whatever property I have today, I will remain thankful to Him forever. I will continue to say that I was not born with a silver spoon. I came from a poor home but I thank God that it is all history. God has lifted me up and I am grateful to Him but that would not make me to forget my root.
