She is a pretty lady with three children: two boys and a
girl. Asked the secret of her youthfulness, she smiled and
said: "It is the Lord’s doing. I attribute it to
a peaceful home and a loving husband".
Indeed, the love that Mr. And Mrs. Samson Ani shares can be
best be described as the love of Romeo and Juliet. "I
have lived with my husband for the past five years and I am
happy with the marriage" she told Daily Sun.
How we met
I met my husband when I went for holidays in Lagos. It was
really wonderful. I didn’t have marriage on my mind
at that moment.
Was it love at first sight?
No. It wasn’t love at first sight. I met him through
a friend, we started a relationship, then it metamorphosed
into love and marriage.
How he proposed
Oh my God! Casually, he said, please be my wife. I said how
can you marry someone you just met? You don’t even know
me and I don’t really know you, please, not yet.
I was dumbfounded because I never liked him initially. I just
kept calm and walked away.
How he got me to marry him
Oh my God, my sweetheart is a super toaster. You know what
I mean. He never gave up. He knew exactly what he wanted.
He knew that I am the woman for him. He continued pestering
me until I gave in. That’s all.
How old were you when you got married?
I was 20.
What was the reactions of his people?
They are like my parents, brother, sister. They all accepted
me.
Attraction
The way he dresses, the way he speaks and the fear of God
in his eyes.
Do your parents accept him initially?
They didn’t have a choice. I choose for myself, nobody
chooses for me. After all I am the person that is getting
married. So, they have to accept whoever I accepted. That’s
the game (Laughs).
The husband speaks
How we met
You guys are funny. Yes I can remember. When I saw my pretty
wife, I was like, oh my God who is this girl? I will marry
her. I saw her in a shop at Lagos. She is not only pretty
but humble. I said I will go for her.
What attracted you to her?
First of all, her sense of dressing, her neatness, and the
way she smiles, the way she does her things. She is a super
organizer.
Was it love at first sight?
Well, yes and no. When I said yes, I mean when I first met
her I was captivated by her beauty. Secondly, when I got closer,
I was more shocked by the way she carries herself in terms
of neatness. You see why I said yes and no. (Laughs). I don’t
really know what you mean by love at first sight, but you
must love what you eat before eating. And when it tastes good
that makes it superb.
Likes
I like everything about my wife. She loves doing things right.
A woman that keeps the home and pilots the affairs of her
family, what will you dislike in her? She is everything to
me. I love her dearly. She is God-fearing. My wife is a wonderful
woman. You don’t toy with her things. What she say is
good is good. Yes, I see myself as the luckiest man on earth.
With her by my side I feel great. |
