Be happy with SK 2

The song, ‘Be Happy featuring Cyclos’ opens up on a very melodious note with a patent dancehall beat.
With the stage name, SK 2, Tunrayo Saka and his brother, Dayo Saka easily weave a contemporary hip hop track from their musical bag of tricks. The strength of their song lies in its beat.

Their understanding of what it takes to spin figures in the Nigerian market is evident in the song but the duo need to keep a honed edge on their lyrical alertness. By putting a check on some of the obvious flaws in their composition, they would be doing their song a lot of good.

From the first word of their lyrical delivery, the effortless manner with which they weave Pidgin English, their mother tongue and contemporary English language works a lot of attitude into the song.

However, the injection of the popular ‘Yahoozee’ slang and some wack lines drums up unarguable lame musical ability and leaves a very visible scar. Besides this flaw, their lyrical originality remains intact.
The flesh of their lyrical interplay delves into a hunger for the streets, club and party play.

A lot of creativity also goes into their work, which grants them musical integrity and identity. Composing a song of this caliber places the act on a respectable pedestal but how far they can go in a musical industry that’s fast moving into a globally recognized force will be interesting to watch out for.
Still hunting for a prime platform on which to launch their dual effort, we hope the waiting game comes to an end soon.
