Lead vocalist of the Destiny Kids, Rejoice Iwueze, has gone solo. But that does not mean that the music family is no longer intact.

In her recent album, I’m Not For Sale, Rejoice, who is now 13 years plus, sounded a note of warning to guys who make overtures to her physically, through phone calls and text messages to steer clear and wait till she grows up. “We are not for sale, Christ has bought us. This life is fragile and one has to be careful the way he or she lives it,” the charming, young musician philosophized.

On her encounter with some of her fans who admire her beauty and golden voice, she says: “You know people send texts, love texts, and say I want to marry you, I want to be your friend. That is why I came up with the song, I’m Not For Sale. Some of them make tantalising promises. But it is not proper for me to think about marriage now. Besides, this body belongs to Christ.”

She said these overtures come from within and outside Nigeria. “My advice to them is that they should be patient till God’s time,” Rejoice said.
I’m Not For Sale is already making waves in the music industry. The message is inspiring and a good piece of advice to the young ones.
Hear Rejoice in the album: “If you are not for sale, I wonna see your hand. If you are not for sale, raise up your hand. I, Rejoice, I’m not for sale. This my body, Holy Ghost the owner. Hey, you girl, what about you? I say, hey you, boy, what about you? Are you for sale? You better be careful how you live ‘cos the wages of sin is death. Let’s use our body to serve the Lord.”

The brain behind the composition of all the songs of the Destiny Kids, Deacon Stephen Iwueze, said he decided to allow Rejoice to go solo to create a new thing in the market. “I know they are in a group but each of them has a specific message for their generation,” Iwueze noted.

He said that I’m Not For Sale is put together for a definite purpose despite the success already recorded by other albums of the group, Joy Joy Joy volumes one to five, in the music market.
The father of the kids says it gladdens his heart when people call to tell him that by reason of listening to the works of the Destiny Kids, that their lives changed to the glory of God.

On why he wrote I’m Not For Sale for his daughter to sing, he said: “Young men and women these days think that life is all about sexual intercourse. The Bible says, He that made them from the beginning made them male and female. Every young boy growing up has a future wife and every young girl has a future husband.

But that does not mean one should dabble into marriage when you have not planned your life.
“They were sending texts and making phone calls to my daughter promising heaven on earth if they could have her hand in marriage. They call me personally trying to persuade me to allow them marry my daughter. But my advice is that they should hold on until she grows up.
“It sounds funny that someone will make marriage proposal to a girl of 13 years. That is why we released that album, I’m Not For Sale. Christ has bought all of us.
“I advise my children to face their academic work now until when God says it is time for them to get married.”
