After setting the French League on fire, Super Eagles star, John Chukwudi Utaka, is setting his eyes on new challenges. The Rennes Nigerian star, Weekend SoccerStar can exclusively report, is ready to invest part of his earnings in real estates in Canada.

A close confidant of the player told Weekend SoccerStar from Toronto in Canada, that Utaka is favourably disposed to acquiring some properties, adding that he’s been searching for some choice estates for the lad.

Our correspondent learnt that real estates could go for as much as $350,000 (about N45 million) in Toronto but there is likelihood that Utaka can even go for something costlier than that.

Utaka was to travel to Canada last summer for inspection of some of the marked properties but the protracted transfer of the 24-year-old former Ismaili and Arab Contractors marksman from RC Lens to Stade Rennes in July 2005 disrupted the conclusion of the deals.

However, it was disclosed that Utaka has renewed fresh interest in acquiring houses, having expressed his readiness to visit Toronto this summer to take another look at the properties which the player’s confidant described as being ‘fit for kings and queens.’
“You need to see some of these houses I am talking about,” stated the player’s confidant, who pleaded anonymity.

“There are beautiful houses here in Canada and I have been looking out for some for my friend, John Utaka. John instructed me to get the best for him and I am sure he’s going to like the ones I’ve selected.

“It has been the dream of John to come and buy a house and also get a franchise for 24 hours coffee biz in Canada since last year. He planned to come last summer but he was busy with his contract deal to Rennes. Now that he has settled down with his new club, he assured me on phone some couple of days ago that he would be in Toronto as soon as possible.

“I know this cannot be earlier than coming summer when the French League would have been over in June. Buying houses here in Toronto is not too expensive. At most, you can get one for about $350,000 and most times it can be financed by some brokers,” he revealed.
