Injured Super Eagles midfielder, Christian Obodo, underwent a successful operation at the Sacred Heart Hospital of Negrar in Verona on Tuesday afternoon to correct a cruciate ligament damage he sustained after clashing with a Sampdoria player during last week Serie A tie.

According to Udinese Web Site, the operation which was executed by Professor Claudius Zorzi lasted for only an hour.
“This afternoon, Professor Claudius Zorzi of the Sacred Heart Hospital of Negrar of Verona, carried out a successful operation on Christian Obodo.

The operation which lasted for an hour was a perfect success,” the club Web Site stated.
As a result of the operation, the former Fiorentina and Perugia playmaker who was rumoured to join Torino in the summer, will stay away from football action for a period of between five and six months and will not be available for all the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations qualifier matches against Uganda, Lesotho and Niger Republic respectively.
The Nigerian nicknamed bundle of skills by his teeming fans will be discharged on Thursday.
