Newcastle United Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins, on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to his former club Inter Milan where he met old friends and admirers, fueling speculations that he could be rejoining the club.

The 23-year-old scored 28 goals in 88 appearances for the Nerazzurri between 2002 and 2006, before his €15m move to Newcastle in summer last year.

With the Premiership season over, Martins travelled to Italy on holiday for five days, and popped in at Inter’s training ground meet to some of his old teammates.
Speaking on the club’s Web site, Inter Channel, the Nigerian striker said: "I'll be here in Italy for five days. I'm still an Interista and I couldn't not come here to say hello to everybody in Appiano. I'm very busy with my team (Newcastle), but I have been following Inter's matches from England for the whole year."

Martins who also made comment on teenage sensation Mario Balotelli, noted; "I saw him and we spoke a bit. I told him that he's good and that he has to keep playing like he's playing."
Meanwhile, Newcastle manager, Kevin Keegan, has warned Premiership rival, Arsenal to steer clear of his priced Nigerian striker, even as he revealed that they have not received any offer from the Gunners.

He further revealed that even if they made any offer, he was not willing to sell the former Inter Milan attacker or any of his players as he was only looking forward to strengthening the squad this summer.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be a fan of Martins, but Keegan said: "Anyone that goes will be a bit of a blow, especially if something like that happens late on in the summer.
"However, Arsenal have definitely not approached me. I want to keep all my players and add to them if I can," Keegan told the Newcastle Chronicle.
