In spite of Coach Berti Vogts insistence to have Mikel Obi in the international friendly against Macedonia on Wednesday, the German may have to wait till the last Ghana 2008 Nations Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Warri.

The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) boss, Sani Lulu, said the FA had accepted Mikel’s apology, but there must be a parley with the Chelsea star first before he would be allowed to play for Nigeria again.

Spokesperson of the football house, Ademola Olajire told Daily Sunsport that the chairman had told the player not to go to Skope in Macidonia for the match as he would not be allowed to kick the ball.

"The FA chairman spoke with Mikel and he was told to wait till a formal meeting with the FA," Olajire said.
"He will not be allowed to play the international friendly against Macidonia. He has apologised just as the manager, John Shittu, but the FA must first meet with him first to tell him the stand of the board on discipline.

"The FA have pardoned him, but he may not play until the next game against Leshoto, in Warri. We have also made this known to the coach."
Mikel was hammered by the FA for his refusal to honour invitation for the Nations Cup matches feigning injury. He also refused to feature in the Dream Team big match against Ghana in Abuja preferring to watch the match from the stand.
