The Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has disclosed that the Head coach designate of the Super Eagles, Amodu Shaibu, would be given preferential treatment accorded foreign coaches in Nigeria.

He told Daily Sunsport in his office exclusively that the plan was to avoid unnecessary bottle-neck that would hamper the smooth running of the team, adding that the NFA will give him all the needed support to get the result.

According to him, “we want to see a situation where the coach would deal directly with the Chairman and the Secretary-general for easy flow,” adding that the technical department will have an input but not as to deal directly with him.

“Why won’t we give Amodu or any other indigenous coach the kind of treatment given the white man? If that will get us the result why not?. We gave Vogts everything and he failed us, but I have this confidence that Amodu and his assistants would do better.

“Among all the coaches that were screened, Amodu had a better CV and having led the Super Eagles in the past to some successes, and we felt he is the right man to do the job. We shall consider the assistant he has picked, while Aloy Agu is undoubtedly the choice for goalkeepers trainer” he stated
Meanwhile, Daniel Amokachi and Fatai Amoo are ahead of the rest in the race for Amodu’s assistant.
