Amodu Shuaibu’s chances of becoming the new coach of Super Eagles’ will be hanging on the decision of the National Sports Commission (NSC), even as the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) await the committee’s report.

The NSC stopped the football gladiators at the Glass House in Abuja from announcing the Edo-born coach as the man to take charge of the senior national team. The NSC, it was gathered were not favoruably disposed with the choice of Amodu on the grounds that the issues concerning the contracts for the job were not properly handled.

The NFA hearkening to the order from NSC had set up a three-man committee on Monday to look into the recommendations of the technical committee, who were saddled with the onerous task of selecting the best candidates for the job.

It would be recalled that Dream Team IV Chief Coach, Samson Siasia was highly favoured for the lucrative job, but he later opted out based on his decision that he would not to serve under any coach in assistant capacity.

Meanwhile, NFA’s Chairman, Alhaji Abdulahi Lulu, in a telephone chat with Daily Sunsport, confirmed that the decision on Amodu’s employment would be taken after the committee that was set up had submited their report.

It is expected that the Amanze Uchegbulam, Bolaji Ojo-Oba and Solomon Ogba committee would submit their report at the Glass House, where the board would meet afterwards to look into their recommendations.

It was also gathered that Amodu had been secretly pleading with NSC’s topshots to forget about the past and allow him make amends for his past misdeeds.
