Beijing Olympic football event-Dream Team draw Holland, Japan, USA

Nigeria’s Under-23 team are to begin their campaign in the Beijing Olympic Games football tournament in Group B against Holland, Japan and the United States of America.

The Samson Siasia team are expected to gird their loins to survive one of the toughest groups in the competition. Italy and hosts, China, received favourable draws for the Olympics soccer event.

In the 16-team men's tournament, Italy are to play against South Korea, Cameroon and Honduras in Group D.

Defending champions, Argentina, were drawn in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Australia and Serbia.
Brazil and China were drawn in Group C along with New Zealand and Belgium.

According to FIFA, the world soccer governing body, the top two teams from each group would progress to the quaterfinals.

The football competitions of the 29th Olympic Games will be held from August 6 - 23, in five cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang and Qinhuangdao. The finals for the men's and women's football tournaments will be held in Beijing where three football venues are located: the Workers' Stadium, the Olympic Sports Center Stadium and the National Stadium.

The venues outside Beijing are: Shanghai Stadium, Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium, Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium, and Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
