Anichebe joins Olympic Team

Everton of England hit man and Super Eagles’ prodigy, Victor Anichebe, arrived Nigeria to join the Under-23 Dream Team IV. The player, who came into Abuja on Tuesday evening, joined his teammates in training yesterday (Wednesday).
Anichebe told Daily Sunsport: "I am happy coming back to Nigeria to join my teammates for the preparatons towards the Olympics.

It's really good to be back with the team."
He said he did not join the team immidiately because he needed some rest after the four weeks long outing with the Super Eagles.

According to him, “Coach Samson Siasia understands with me. I didn't stay away delibrately. I needed some little rest."
He said he’s very delighted playing under Siasia, who he described as a good and understanding coach. stating that he cherishes and enjoys the warmth and reception he has been recieving since he started playing for Nigeria.

Asked which of the teams he prefered most, the Super Eagles or the Under-23 team, and he replied: "Both are different teams with different talents and I enjoy playing for both of them. I just want to do Nigeria proud in whatever capacity I'm called upon."

The player said he was committed to making sure that the team perform well at the Olympics. He said that the Nigerian team would not be afraid of any so-called big name or team at the Olympics.
