Chief Coach of Dream Team IV, Samson Siasia, on Monday, released the 26-man final list for the Beijing Olympic squad, with Kennedy Chinwo as the surprised exclusion
According to Siasia, the players who made the team, were painfully selected based on their position and fitness, adding that four other players would be dropped after their camping in South Korea.

“My team are not ready yet, but I know we would be after playing about four matches in Korea against tough oppositions.

“The idea is to play these matches and test the readiness of the players to face the task ahead in Beijing

“We have to play more friendly matches to keep the players in match form and I must say that the home-based Super Eagles did well in stretching the boys. We lost some scoring chances that could have given us clear cut victory over them, but it was a good match,” he stated after the Olympic-bound team defeated the Home-based Eagles 1–0 on Sunday.
Siasia stated that nine home-based players made the team, because they showed willingness to be part of the 26-man list and so, had remained focused all through the camping period.

The team heading for South Korea have the following players: Vincent Enyeama, Ambrose Vanzekin, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Taye Taiwo, Onyekachi Apam, Isaac Promise, Solomon Okoronkwo, Obinna Nsofor, Victor Anichebe, Sani Kaita, Solomon Abwo Femi Ajilore, Chinedu Obasi, Chibuzor Okonkwo, Dele Adeleye, Okoro Osadebamwen and John Owoeri.
Others are Osaze Odemwingie, Ambrose Efe, Emmanuel Ekpo, Olubayo Adefemi, Gege Soriola, Femi Oladapo, Bernard Okronkwo, Monday James and Ikechukwu Uche

Meanwhile, Daily Sunsport gathered that Ambrose Efe, who was reported to have heart defect, may be registered as an alternate player, while Kaita, Owoeri, Okoro Osadebamwen, Soriola and Abwo will fight to escape being among the three that would be sent home from South Korea.
