Any hope of bringing Chelsea of England playmaker back to Dream Team IV have been dashed by the Chairman of Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Sanni lulu.

He said Mikel’s attitude towards the preparation of the team for the Olympics necessitated the decision to drop his name and asked those who are pleading on his behalf to concentrate their energy on how to make the players already selected for the Olympics formidable.

In a chat with Daily Sunsport, Lulu said Coach Samson siasia had complained on the undue influence of John Ola Shittu on the progress of the player and asked those who are close to the player to break loose from the shackles of the players agent.

“Nobody can convince us to include Mikel Obi in the Olympic squad. His matter had been concluded long ago and we cannot open old wounds.
“I want to beg Nigerians who know John Ola Shittu, the agent to Mikel to talk to him on the attitude of the young lad towards national assignment because he will regret some of his actions in no distant future.

“Coach Samson Siasia had complained that anytime he called Mikel on phone, Shittu will pick up the call and tell him that he is not around. This is a serious issue that must be discouraged for the young boy to take decision of his own.

“Mike must show commitment for his country to make it big in football. It would have been perfect if Mikel played in the Olympics. It would have meant that he had played in all the cadres of the national teams, but Nigeria cannot beg him to write his name in the history books.
