The age long romance between ladies and fashion is undeniable. Most women can literally sniff the latest fashion trends and accessories from the inner most part of their bedrooms. This alliance is strengthened by designers who on daily basis task their ingenuity and explore their creative prowess to meet up with the dynamics of their trade.

And because fashion is transient, it is not surprising to find designs of the pre colonial era, discarded and dumped into the waste basket, resurfacing and taking the front burner for today’s most stylish lady. The only noticeable difference might just come in the molds but it’s all the same. Otherwise, how does one explain the re-emergence of big bags?

The return of big bags in the fashion and style circuit is one of those yet-to- be solved riddles. Everywhere you turn, in campuses, offices, churches, bus parks and markets, you see ladies struggling (to say the least) with bags that ordinarily should have been for luggage. Some of them are big while some are medium-sized travelling bags.

Funny as the women may appear carrying these life size bags, perhaps giving the male folk a food for thought on why a sane human being would “be moving a large house” in the name of fashion and trends. The volume and content of these bags are intimidating. I can assure you that the consequences of questioning the contents of these giant bags are serious. Little wonder, a mischievous male colleague calls these bags “mobile houses”

The truth remains that they are the raves of the moment. The bigger they come, the better. It is as simple as ABC. After all, it is difficult for anyone to understand the insatiability of women in fashion
Even at that, women must exercise caution in choosing and buying these bags or else somebody would storm the office with a luggage in the name of a handbag. We must strive to strike a balance in our choices. Let common sense prevail
