About a month after two ministries, Lagos State Ministries of Environment and Finance clashed at the computer village, Ikeja, there is an indication that the problem has not been resolved.

When the Ministry of Environment tried to evacuate a container mounted across the drainage by the Ministry of Finance, one of the directors from the latter ministry was literally mad, while claiming that the governor had approved the location of said container, therefore, it should not be removed.

In a chat last week with the Commander, Special Squad and General Operations, Enforcement Unit, Akin Ogunlana, who led the KAI team, he said that everything relating to that issue is awaiting the final decision of the Commissioner of the Environment, Muiz Banire.

He said, however, that the removal of the container would prevent flood in the village.
Daily Sun’s observation revealed that officials of KAI have dismantled almost all illegal structures and attachments at the village in the last couple of weeks, but the particular container from the Ministry of Finance has become ‘untouchable’.
