Pastor Denila Newton of Grace for All Ministries, House of
Favour Church, Lagos, has enjoined parents not to send their
children on errands that would make them go against the will
of God rather they should be sent on errands that would bring
glory to God.
He made this known at the Children Day’s celebration
held at the church auditorium.
In his message entitled, “ I am a child of God,”
he said children should be guided in whatever they do, so
that they would not derail from the principles of God.
He advised them to always speak the truth no matter the situation
that they find themselves and they should obey their parents
in all things so that they would receive the blessings of
God.
In his words: “ Children are the leaders of tomorrow,
so parents should take proper care of their children and train
them in the way of the Lord. They should also teach their
children to be punctual where ever they go,” he stated.
The children entertained parents, friends and well-wishers
with choreography, Bible recitations and the names of Jesus
Christ in alphabetical order. For example, A for Alpha and
Omega, B for Bread of Life, C for Christ, Z for Zion, among
others.
Equally, the children performed a drama entitled, The Way
of Life which centred on a girl (Obioma) who was brought up
in a godly way by her mother but was influenced by bad association.
Four-year-old David Dominion, who sang a song entitled, I
am a radical for Jesus, received a loud applause from the
congregation as he sang the song and they could not but join
him in singing the song.
The occasion was also used to present gifts to some of the
children, Jennifer Enebeli, Rachael Obaro and Obed Favour
for being the Best Behaved Children in the church while Pastor
Nkechi Newton-Denila, Sister Felicia Onome and Sister Jane
Dennis were presented with gifts fore their support towards
children programmes.
