The Lagos State Government yesterday set up a five-member committee to oversee the burial of the late Chief Coach of the Golden Eaglets, Mr. Theophilus Adeyemi Tella, who died weekend at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idiaraba.

The committee which is headed by the State’s Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele, has the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barrister Opeyemi Bamidele, and the Special Adviser, Governor’s Office, Mr. Sunny Ajose as well as two members of the Tella family as members.

The State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, who announced the formation of the committee while on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, also directed that a generator be immediately installed at the family house of the Tellas while he also instructed the State Water Corporation to revitalize the borehole in the compound of the late Coach.

Governor Fashola commended the late coach for serving the nation diligently even at the detriment of his health and succeeding in bringing hope to a lot of young people.
He thanked God for the life and the good name left behind by the late coach asking everyone to take a cue from him in being selfless about service to the nation.

He added that the late coach has fulfilled his contract with his creator and asked everyone to make good use of the time available as no one knows who would be next to answer the final call
The Governor drove straight from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport on arrival from Singapore to the residence of the late coach who died at the intensive care unit of LUTH on Saturday morning after doctors battled in vain to stabilize his health condition preparatory to flying him abroad for further treatment.

It would be recalled that while away in Singapore, Governor, Fashola had approved the immediate release of funds for the procurement of an additional life-saving respirator, ventilator, monitor and other accessories for LUTH to enable the critically ill coach of the reigning Under 17 World Champions Golden Eaglets remain on life support for as long as necessary.
