ANPP urges Nigerians to pray at Eid

The All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), has appealed to Nigerians to pray fervently to Allah to grant the country a divine intervention by ushering in good leadership that appropriately represents the people come 2011 general elections.

The party in a statement to mark the Eid-El-Kabir, noted that delivery of the much needed dividends of democracy has remained an illusion in the country owing to bad government. It said that the ANPP which has remained transparent and dedicated to duty, shall genuinely and democratically take over power and deliver appropriately.
The statement, which was signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary Emma Eneukwu, said that it is by the mercy of God that Nigerians are still alive to celebrate the period.

According to Eneukwu; “We give Him very unquantifiable thanks. As we celebrate, we ask God to use His infinite mercy to intervene in the numerous problems that bedevil our beloved country, Nigeria, as a result of bad leadership by the PDP.
“The tyrannical, dubious, and tortuous leadership by the PDP has held our country to ransom for over 10 years. Deceit, visionless, corruption, and so many uncountable unfulfilled promises have become the culture of the ruling PDP.”

The ANPP, therefore, prayed God to use this period of Eid-El-Kabir to intervene in the country and give the people the wisdom to overcome all the different tactics adopted by the PDP to destroy Nigeria’s democracy by subjecting the masses to abject poverty and torture.

“The 6,000 mega watts to be achieved before the end of the year as promised by the PDP government remains a mouth blow, as the government has only been able to achieve less than 2,000 mega watts currently in use, and the year is almost ended, thereby throwing the nation into epileptic power supply and at times into total darkness,” Eneukwu stressed.

The opposition party also noted that the 7-point agenda promised by the President Yar’Adua’s administration are yet to achieve one of the points in the agenda thereby increasing under-development and poverty which have become the order of the day.
