Steve,
I can not thank you enough for today’s write up on
WAEC. If you ever have cause to interact with the majority
of our today’s graduates and undergraduates, you can’t
help but cry for this country.
This is a country where majority of our graduates and undergraduates
today, do not know the use of indexes in a textbook or how
to even use the encyclopedia. How can they, when merit has
been murdered in our higher institutions at the alter of cash
and carry.

I love your funny but true write-up on “WAEC: how did
we get here? You are such a naturally born writer. An award?

You raised political doom alarm, nevertheless, we’re
doomed, corruption in high esteem. Tell our leaders whether
they’ll hear or not because they are stiff -necked people.

Re- UNBUNDLING EFCC
I want to commend you for the good work that you are doing.
Especially, your work on “unbundling” EFCC. It
is truly a Frank Talk. God will keep people like you for your
frank talk (For speaking out for every Nigerian) keep it up.

EFCC should not be taken seriously until it has probed the
sudden wealth of Obasanjo. But, it cannot, because Ribadu
is the greatest beneficiary from Obasanjo’s regime.
So let’s have a new hand to depoliticize the body. God
bless you.

EFCC is a graduate of Obasanjo’s school of gangasterism
(check Akala and Adedibu) Ribadu should be told that the baton
has changed.

KEEP IT UP
Thank you for spoiling my breakfast with your vivid description
of the school you visited in Jigawa. What do you expect from
a governor who makes funding of 3rd agenda, a priority than
education of the poor masses

Steve,
Your back-page piece (‘Daily Sun’ of 19 Sep’07)
was very incisive and real. However, how many literate Nigerians
care to read? Several misfit regimes have largely caused the
systemic detour from merit to money-mania and eduphobia.
Ride on; Could you please, research into our remuneration
structure among the political class, public and private sector,
working and non-working class people. What they earn, compared
to what they contribute to the economy.
The current situation is astonishingly disheartning; Idle
disorientd’barboons’ not only waste the economy,
but also insult the hardworking proactive ‘monkeys’.

Steve,
God bless you for addressing the nauseating decay in our educational
system and the shameless attitude of the rigged-in politicians,
whose stock-in trade is inflation of contract claims and brandishing
of impeachment notices for some fee.
Keep it up and may your pen never run dry.

What a wonderful piece from you. My opinion is that the federal
government should declare a state of emergency in the educational
system. They should stop sharing excess crude funds with states
and plough it back into education.
Afterall, we did the same thing in writing off our paris club
debts. We have not been building human capital in this nation
for the past 20 years.
