Abia State indigenes resident in Anambra State have expressed  optimism that Governor Peter Obi would win the 2010 gubernatorial election in the state and retain his seat for a second tenure of another four years.
They said they are convinced that Obi would retain his seat because he had done so much in the state, in terms of positive development and had won the hearts of right thinking Anambrarians and other state indigenes resident in the state.

In a brief interview with Daily Sun in his residence at Mgbakwu, recently, the national co-ordinator of Abia indigenes resident outside Abia State, Hon. Ubi Ekeke, maintained that apart from Obi, no other candidate in contention can guarantee the security of lives and property of Anambrarians in their state of origin. Excerpts:

Peter Obi Through his Anambra Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS) programmes, Obi has delved into many areas. But the most important aspect of his achievements is that he has succeeded in stopping god-fatherism and ensured that Anambra ‘s money is used for developmental projects.
Another important thing is that he enthroned rule of law and that has helped to open the eyes of Nigerians in the areas of rule of law which has directly benefitted Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State and Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State.

Therefore, we believe that if given a second chance, Obi will still open up more hidden treasures that will surely benefit the masses like that of rule of law.
We are aware that enemies of progress are fighting Obi because they did not expect that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will give us good governance.

Anambra people suffered so much in the hands of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), particularly during the regime of Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, and it is that same divine power that pitched PDP against itself during Dr. Chris Ngige regime and paved the way for Obi to take over the mantle of leadership.
We must advise Anambra people not to be deceived by money bags because we should not accommodate people who will send us back to where we are coming from.
