Eagles camp for B/Faso match

Chief Coach of the domestic Super Eagles, Okey Emordi, has
invited 30 players drawn from the Premier League for camping
in Calabar ahead of the African Nations Championship qualifier
against Burkina Faso.
Topping the list were players from league leaders, Kano Pillars,
Enyimba, Wikki Tourists and Bayelsa United, who supplied three
players each, while Rangers, Sunshine Stars, Lobi Stars and
Heartland supplied two each.
Those invited:
Goalkeepers: Akombo Terhemen (Lobi), Bassey Akpan (Bayelsa),
John Gaadi (Gombe) and Olufemi Thomas (Nasarawa).
Defenders: Chinedu Efugh, Kingsley Obiekwo (Rangers) Obinna
Nwokolo, Okey Odita (Enyimba), Mutiu Adegoke (Heartland),
Kabiru Balaria (Pillars), Monday Osagie (Bayelsa) Olumide
Oyedeji Babatunde Yusuf (Sunshine Stars) and Promise Onochie
(Wikki).
Others were Bello Kofarmata, Hillary Chukwu (Pillars), Sunday
Adeyemi (Zamfara), Nura Mohammed (Gombe), Emma Nwachi (Sharks)
Eze Otorogu (Enyimba), Daniel Osigwe (Wikki), Morufu Yusuf
(Kwara), Johnson Chidozie (Enyimba), Amanze Elekwachi (Jigawa),
Blessing Okardi (Ocean Boys), Chibuzor Okonkwo (Bayelsa) Timothy
Anjembe (Lobi), Tukura Mike (Wikki) Ambrose Efe (Kaduna Utd)
and Yinka Adedeji (3SC).
The team are expected to confront the Burkinabes in the first
leg of the newly introduced competition for home-based players
at the U. J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Saturday, May 12.
Meanwhile, Coach Emordi has assured that he would build a
solid local Super Eagles, which would be able to hold their
own against the best in the continent, adding that he would
continue to reshuffle the team until he got the right blend
of players. |
