Nigeria Football Association (NFA) Secretary-General, Bolaji Ojo-Oba, has reflected on Sunday’s 2–0 victory of the home-based Super Eagles against Burkina Faso and declared that the Nigerian side could have won by a wider margin had their strikers been sharper.

Although Ojo-Oba admitted that it was a tough match and believes the boys of Coach Felix Okey-Emordi put up a brilliant performance, he told brilafm.net that he was worried they could not convert chances that came their way.

“It was a tough match. The run of play was very tough and our boys gave their best. The only missing point was that they could not convert all the chances that came their way, and that stopped our team from winning by a wider margin,” he confessed.

The former commissioner for sports in Oyo State revealed further that the next step for the team would depend on Emordi’s programme, while noting that many of the players would love to return to their clubs for FA Cup matches.
“The next line of action will depend on the coach’s programme. For now, they are back in camp, but we must remember that they have matches in the Challenge Cup and Premier League that are coming up.

“We have to see how we can fix things better, but it will all depend on the programme the coach comes up with,” Ojo-Oba reasoned.
He concluded with a promise that the May 27 friendly against Austria would go ahead as planned, and declared that the Glasshouse still has ample time to put finishing touches on their build-up towards the game in Vienna.
